I’ve been shopping with Macy’s for a loooong time. They’ve become my luxe, beauty destination of choice; they’re always having sales and I can get Chanel, Dior and so many others all in one place. This past week was no exception. I took full advantage of the 15% off select beauty items promotion. Dior Makeup was included in the promo. Chanel was a hard no. Womp womp. That didn’t stop me buying items from both brands, however. I previously picked up my fave eyeshadow, Dior 5 Couleurs Couture, and I had to have another. But, I didn’t stop there. This lookbook includes some of the items I got during the VIP sale. Some items have yet to arrive, so enjoy this lookbook and stay tuned!
Luxe Beauty Haul
I wanted a compact foundation that I could use to blot my T-zone and/or set my highlight. For these purposes I chose one shade lighter than my complexion. Color 060 worked out perfectly in that regard. As you’ll see in the photos below, the compact is refillable. Less waste; I’m all for that!
In an attempt to upgrade my skincare regimen, I thought I’d invest in a quality face wash. I decided to try this one from Clinique, as it claims to prevent blackheads and deeply clean pores. Sounds like a makeup lover’s dream. It doubles as a five minute mask and contains 1% salicylic acid to accomplish the job. Hey, the best defense is a great offense!
I’m really into learning to apply eyeshadow well. I wanted a few more palettes to play around with. I chose this one from Chanel as it is filled with mattes, which I’ve been told is a plus for hooded eyes. It came highly recommended by Everyday Edit of YouTube. I watch her channel all the time. Though she covers many luxury, beauty brands, it’s a Chanel lover’s paradise.
I own one proper blush. It comes in the Palette Essentielle by Chanel. I definitely needed to expand my collection with some really awesome, stand alone blushes. Due to its claims of being an ultra pigmented, long wear formula, I chose the Rouge Blush Couleur Couture from Dior. I’m really excited to see how it performs.
I previously purchased one of these babies from Chanel. Its claims are real! It stays put, even through eating and after sleeping. When I take a drink, nothing but the gloss is left on the glass. I had to get my hands on more colors. I love a bold, red lip, so that’s what I got. I can’t wait to swatch this one for you all. It’s gorgeous!
I was in need of a new eye pencil, so I decided to give Chanel a try. This one comes with a cute, little sharpener as a companion. #cute
As an added bonus, I was able to choose two beauty samples. I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara, so I chose Lancôme’s Lash Idôle and Dior’s DiorShow Maximizer3D, lash primer. If all goes well, I’m down for buying them full size. #FingersCrossed
