Millennium Chic

I’ve done quite a few unboxings but this one feels particularly special. It’s no secret that the millennial generation has a nostalgic streak. After all, we are the generation of the sitcom reboot. This love of things past extends to luxury goods as well. Recently, the Y2K era, small shoulder bag has become wildly popular and I am loving it, as shoulder bags are one of my favorite handbag styles. Before I go on, let me give you a visual.

This bag worn by Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Greene literally imprinted on my subconscious. I recall thinking how much I loved this bag and wanted it. It was hard finding a good enough photo of it online. It’s amazing how a simple, smooth, black leather bag could have such a lasting impact.

Of course, few bags left such an impression on the collective psyche as the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the artist Takashi Murakami. I purchased my New Wave Chain Bag because the handle it comes with was the closest I could get to having the colorful Murakami pieces. Even to this day, seeing a piece from that collection leaves me breathless. Few wore them better than Rachel McAdams as Regina George.

I remember falling in love with this bag while watching ‘Mean Girls’. It’s simply gorgeous. I can’t bring myself to purchase it second hand, however, as there are too many high quality fakes. Only the real thing for this lady.

Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessoires

Louis Vuitton’s Pochette Accessoires is the bag featured in the above image. While the Murakami collaboration is no longer in production, the Pochette still is! It’s no wonder that when I saw it available on the LV website, I didn’t hesitate to purchase.

The pochette Accessoires was available in two canvas prints when I was on the website, the monogram and the damier azure. It is hard to choose between the two and I honestly would love to have both. Alas, I chose but one. Let’s find out which, shall we?

Reveal

I chose the Damier Azure canvas. Of course I had to dress her up, yet she’s beautiful on her own. I will be uploading a proper unboxing where I go into detail about what made me choose this print in particular. Stay tuned!
